What Is Tactile Smart Connect?
FTTC/GEA – We provide flexible, resilient infrastructure to deliver world class connectivity that empowers our customers with high quality internet access through the use of ADSL2+ and Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) technologies. Our broadband service can be self managed by the customer or fully managed by Tactile Technology with full remote management and monitoring of the network.
Leased Lines – An internet leased line is a dedicated, private circuit that delivers internet connectivity to a customer’s site from a Tactile Connect point of presence. The Tactile Connect network is classed as the A end, i.e. the originating point of the internet circuit and the customers site is what is known as the B end i.e. the destination of the circuit.
An internet leased line will deliver unrivalled quality of service and unlike DSL services, they only have a four hour fault repair SLA compared to the 40 or 20 clock hour fix offered on most broadband products. Internet Leased Lines are delivered as a fully managed product meaning that Tactile Technology will supply appropriate hardware along with the circuit, once installed it will be remotely monitored and managed by our expert team. By having a fully managed service our customers are no longer susceptible to the headaches of managing the circuit which allows them to focus on their core businesses operations.
Ethernet First Mile (EFM) – Ethernet First Mile (EFM) is simply a connection from the customer premises to the exchange made up of multiple ‘bonded’ copper pairs. Unlike a traditional leased line which uses Fibre, EFM uses bundles of copper pairs meaning lower costs, high resilience and a faster installation time.
Ethernet and EFM services are ideal for customers who: require consistently high connectivity speeds, regularly transfer sensitive data from site to site, or have a high demand for uploads and downloads.
